I chose Palmer Sagoonick for my musher. Palmer was born in Alaska, and said that he started mushing"long ago." Now he is 46 years old, he developed his interest in running the Iditarod because he was an Iditarod volunteer in Shaktoolik for many years. Palmer graduated from the Arctic Bible Institute and Nome Beltz Vocational School. For the last 35 years Palmer has been a commercial fisherman. Palmer is a husband and father of four adult children, Tom, Tim, Mary, and Jermy. Palmer's hobbies are boat building, sled building, music, and ivory carving.
