                                      Jim Gallea was born in Minnosatta in 1980.  His mom and his dad are both Idatarod veterans but his mom is racing this year and not his father.  Jim was raised in Montana and started mushing at the age of six.  He additionaly raced in the junior Iditarod before racing in the real race. He also works as a led dog tour guide in the summer. Jim is simgle and likes computers, hunting, and fishing.
