We encourage parents of children attending WCTS to become involved with the WCTS PTA.  We have numerous committees set up whose input and activities greatly benefit the WCTS community.  This year we have come up with a new Incentive Program to help us acknowledge the support of our volunteers, the details of which can be found here.

These are the list of committees who are an active part of the WCTS PTA:

Membership

This committee will be in charge of recruiting, and maintaining membership records.

Reflections/Awards Achievement

Reflections is a program where our Students submit Poetry, Art Etc. and the PTA helps to organize submissions pick winners of the competition and follow them through to the State and National Level.

The Awards Achievement Program is in its third year where we’ve given two $500 awards to deserving students either going on to school or their chosen trade.

Public Relations

This committee will actually be comprised of 3 sub committees as follows:

• Newsletter- Responsible for 3 Newsletter mailings throughout the year.
• Publicity – Will be in charge of advertising our events to the public, the school via Fliers, newspapers, cable etc. Also, be the liaison for this information to go to the Newsletter and web site committees.
• Web site – Help to keep information current on our Web site.

Hospitality / Sunshine

Coordinates refreshments for Meetings, School Events etc. Also sends Greetings, Sympathies, and Congratulations as needed on behalf of the PTA.

Entertainment - Dance / School Event

Volunteers needed to chaperone and/or provide refreshments for various events and dances throughout the year.

The PTA hosts 3-4 dances a year:  Back to School-September; The Costume Ball-October; Spring Fling-March and the Freshmen to Freshman Dance-June.

The Committee may be needed to help with other things such as Freshman Orientation, Teacher In-Service Luncheon, Field Day, After Prom Breakfast.

Treasurer’s Audit

Committee of  3 or more people needed to audit the PTA’s books for the State at the end of the school year in May/June. Only takes one night of your time!

Nominating

Nominate and Recruit new PTA executive committee members as needed.  This year President, Vice President and Corresponding Secretary are up for  a two year term. Interested parties should contact any of the Executive Committee Members.

Programming

A group of people is needed to research and present ideas for speakers and other programs that they feel will be beneficial to our students. We would like to try and bring in at least one or two programs this year as time and budget allow.

Fundraising

We are always looking for help and support with our fundraisers:

• Yard Sales in October and May
• Operating the Concession Stand during all Theater Productions and for the Post-Secondary students throughout the year.
• Craft/Vendor Fair in December – Organize Vendors & Crafters and the Concession stand.
• Our Tricky Tray in April
