Supplemental Reading and Math

Math
I work with those students who may have difficulty with a particular concept in their regular math class.  I reinforce skills taught in the classroom and provide support  when needed.  This instruction is in addition to their regular classroom instruction.
Please take any opportunity to reinforce math skills with your children.  Examples- telling time,  counting money or the change you may have in your pockets,  simple addition and subtraction, fractions when you are cooking  Math problems crop up many times in our daily lives.  Use these opportunities to help your children find out the importance of math.

Reading
I teach Guided Reading in 2A, 2B and 2C in addition to the regular classroom teacher.  This enables each teacher to see the reading groups daily .  During Guided Reading we read many  kinds of books so that children are exposed to the different genres .
Each story is read, discussed and various skills are taught.  Nightly reading is also encouraged to increase comprehension, fluency and the love of reading.
