Practical Nursing Program Information
Practical Nursing is an art and a science which
involves the total person and includes the maintenance of health,
care of the sick, and the restoration of health. The practical nurse
provides quality nursing care to patients in hospitals, institutions,
or in the home. The LPN practices within the established legal
framework
The WCTS Nursing program offers full-time course that takes one calendar year to complete.
The Full-Time Daytime Program meets Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
During the beginning of the program, concurrent instruction and clinical practice focus on the nursing basic procedures and rationales. Later in the program students advance to learning to provide more complex patient
needs and develop critical thinking skills. Students have clinical experience in specialty areas such as maternal and child health, behavioral health, and care of the developmentally delayed.

Students completing the course receive a School of Practical Nursing diploma.
Graduates may then apply to the NJ State Board of Nursing to take the NCLEX Examination to become LPNs. Many and varied employment opportunies are available in Subacute and Long-Term Care, Physician offices, home health care, and New Jersey State Agencies.
LPNs have opportunities to specialize in areas of nursing in which they are interested and to advance professionally through additional training.
Tuition is $4,300 (Warren County residents).
