CABINETMAKING
(Building Trades & Cabinetry)
CAREER ACADEMY

The Cabinetmaking program, which infuses cabinetry and building trades, will give students the opportunity to learn to work and create with wood. The program is designed to develop marketable skills, with special regard to the care and use of tools, machines, and materials. The program provides the knowledge of planning and reading drawings, which later enables students to plan logical work procedures, estimate the cost of carpentry and cabinetmaking jobs, and carry out jobs to a successful conclusion. Emphasis is also placed on developing safe working practices, as well as a positive attitude and a good work ethic. Practical experiences are provided in the school shop and services are afforded to the community. Warren County Technical School graduates have gone on to apprentice programs with the Carpenter’s Union, The Ironworker’s Union, and broadened their skills by entering a host of two- or four-year colleges. The Warren County Technical School Cabinetmaking program is focused on a general aspect of carpentry and building leading into more advanced cabinet-making and furniture techniques.
