ACADEMIC COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
ART

ART I prerequisite - none 5 credits This is a core course designed around the study of the elements and principles of art, aesthetics, criticism, and creation. Students work in a variety of mediums to create two- and three-dimensional works of objective, non-objective, and abstract art. The various trends and styles of art around the world are tied to the studio lessons through criticism. Works of students are displayed online and around the building.

ART II prerequisite - Art I 5 credits The elements and principles of art, aesthetics, criticism, and creation are studied in depth. This ad¬vanced course allows students more freedom in choosing medium, technique, style while creating artworks. In-depth study of exemplary artists and styles accompanies this creation. Works of stu¬dents are displayed on line and around the building.

ART III prerequisite – Art II 5 credits This course builds on concepts of the elements and principles of art, aesthetics, criticism, and crea¬tion. Students in this class have the opportunity to independently master the skillls they worked on the previous classes of art. Works of students are displayed on line and around the building.

ART IV prerequisite - Art III 5 credits Students in this course continue study of elements and principles of art, aesthetics, criticism, and creation. This class also focuses on college portfolio preparation. Works of students are displayed on line and around the building.
