Lesson Plan Title: Tutoring B

Subject: Math

NJCCC Standards Addressed: 4.1.A., 4.1.B., 4.4.A., 4.5.F.

Objectives: To practice basic arithmetic computation, to practice finding landmarks of data

Required Materials: Computer with Internet access, scrap paper, pencils, Addition packet, Landmarks of data worksheet

Anticipatory Set (Lead-In): Knowledge of maximum, minimum, median & mode, Addition of single digit numbers, Knowledge of “carrying”

Step-By-Step Procedures:

1.     Student A – Work on 2-digit addition packet

2.     Students B & C – Landmarks of data worksheet – work through one problem at a time together and go over, work towards completing independently

3.     Math Arcade – FunBrain: Set at last completed grade level – use passwords from previous week if they were present

   

 Closure (Reflect Anticipatory Set): Students give oral summary of how to do a type of problem, Could demo a problem for the group w/ explanation
