You are a reporter for the school newspaper and have been assigned an article regarding the usefulness of math in the job market. |

This activity is designed to provide an answer to the question, "When are we ever going to use this math?" The intent is to show students the importance of mathematics in the real world.
Task
In this activity, students will review the various sites that are listed in the resource section of this WebQuest.
Students will fill out the job search worksheet that is provided in the process section of this WebQuest.
Students will write a one page, typed newspaper article on the job topic they select. The article will have one picture included.

Your project will be graded on the following criteria:
Some of the things I will be looking for are adequate research, use of class time, complete and well thought out ideas and stylish presentation.
You will also be getting a Language Arts writing grade for this project.
Conclusion
When you have completed this assignment, you will be sharing your findings with your class and teacher.
After doing your own research and listening to what other students have discovered, write a short paragraph (1/2 page) about why you think you are taught algebra and other advanced math topics in school.
