ACADEMIC COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
JOURNALISM
GRADES 11-12 - prerequisite English Grades 9-10 5 Credits
This elective course explores the world of journalism with an emphasis on the teaching of writing of news and feature articles. This course includes an overview of the newspaper field, discussion of ethics and pertinent laws, and close attention to principles of news structure and style. Students will apply strategies learned in the classroom to practical assignments, such as conducting interviews and covering meetings.
