After viewing this project, several instructors who were attending an East Stroudsburg University 2001 summer graduate course dealing with brain-based research, were inspired to create ideas for other thematic units. Their ideas, along with a PowerPoint presentation on thematic units, can be found here at WARRENnet.org.

Project Summary

The Warren County Technology Project for the 2000 - 2001 school year centered around Migratory Birds and culminated with a bird count in the spring. Other activities included an online bird scavenger hunt that took place in January, and a bird identification game. Warren County Technology Coordinators have compiled a list of links and lesson plans for teachers to use with their classes that center around the Migratory Birds thematic unit.

*Teachers grades k-12 are encouraged to continue to utilize the activities.

*Lesson plan ideas, as well as questions or suggestions, can continue to be e-mailed to Denise Weston.

*If you know of a migratory bird link to add to this site please e-mail Ann Frank.
