ACADEMIC COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

PSYCHOLOGY        GRADES 11-12- prerequisite- none                             2.5Credits

This course covers the basic concepts of psychology including the development of personality, emotions, motivation, and perception. Students learn about the many influences that may affect human behavior. Students explore scientific methods of research as well as the major schools of psychology as they relate to issues of aggression, addictive behavior, memory, interpersonal relations, and self-care. Topics include the importance of ethics in scientific study, psychology’s application to daily life, the influence of cultural background on perception, and more.
