Come to the Knights’ Café!

Have you ever been to the Knights’ Café? If not, then you are definitely missing out on an exciting experience. Operating hours are from twelve to one-thirty PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We are open during the school year from early October to late May. There is something on the menu for everyone, and you get to watch as your food is being prepared in the kitchen across from you. The juniors and seniors of the culinary department run the restaurant with the help of Mr. Fortun and Ms. Buccino. Pairs of students are assigned to each station, such as the fryer and the grill. Mr. Fortun acts as the expediter, or the person who makes sure
orders are made at the right time and are perfectly presented to the customers.
While the Knights’ Café is just like a regular restaurant in nearly all ways, there is one big difference. The Café is a training ground to teach students, in a hands-on way, about the restaurant industry. It is not focused on making a profit. Mr. Fortun says that any day where people are lined up at the door is a successful one no matter how much money we make. This is why he devised a new system where every customer gets a coupon to come back in the next few weeks for a free soup, entrée, or dessert.
This year, the Café has become a lunchtime hotspot for local customers looking for a more personal dining experience. Haven’t been to the Knights’ Café? Now is the perfect time to stop by!
