The Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts program provides a comprehensive four-year curriculum program to prepare students for various entry-level management positions in the food service, lodging, and gaming industries. The curriculum is designed to enable graduating students to pursue various positions, such as front desk supervisor, food service supervisor, convention services manager, banquet manager, restaurant manager, purchasing agent, housekeeping manager, maître d’, hotel sales manager, beverage manager, casino operations manager, hotel reservations manager, hotel reservations specialist, and food production supervisor.
Students will develop problem-solving skills that prepare them for exciting careers in hospitality management and post-secondary education. This challenging program delivers a curriculum that provides career and technical courses as well as traditional academic studies. Warren Tech delivers a four-year, traditional high-school curriculum while focusing on hotel management, food preparation and other hospitality-oriented subjects. Students will be able to manage our state-of-the-art full service Knights Cafe.
HOSPITALITYAND CULINARY ARTS I prerequisites- none 10 credits
In the first year of this program, students learn concepts from various angles of the hospitality field. The students will begin to learn basic foods and safety, hospitality basics and management techniques, as well as tourism attraction locations throughout New Jersey starting locally with Warren County.
HOSPITALITY AND CULINARY ARTS II prerequisites- H, A & M I 10 credits
The next phase in this coursework will focus on learning food production, food purchasing, safety, nutrition, and sanitation. Along with those skills, students will venture into accounting and finance management and learn hospitality industry policies and regulations. The students will also experience restaurant facilities operations through various activities and guest speakers throughout the year.
HOSPITALITY AND CULINARY ARTS III prerequisites- H,A & M I 15 credits
The third year of this program will see students experimenting with world cultures and culinary traditions. Also, students will find instruction in the areas of general business and franchise management. Students will continue to explore tourism regulations, outlets, travel restraints, global tourism economy, and customer service.
HOSPITALITY AND CULINARY ARTS IV prerequisites- H, A & M I 15 credits
The final year will see students running a state-of-the-art restaurant as well as venturing out on CIE job opportunities with hospitality and tourism attractions throughout the county.

Graduation Requirements
The following are high school graduation requirements as established through state law/regulations or Board policy.
Satisfactory completion of a Board of Education approved program consisting of:
4 years of English
4 years of Health/Physical Education
3 years of Social Studies (World History, U.S. History I, and U.S. History II)
3 years of Mathematics and 3 years of Science
1 year of Fine, Practical, or Performing Arts
1 year of Business Management
Senior Year Research Paper
1 year of a World Language (2 years for college prep)

A senior must take and complete a national or state-validated test in their vocational area. Students must take a class every period. There are NO STUDY HALLS. It is anticipated that students, on average, will graduate with 170 credits, inclusive of state-mandated and CTE requirements. Students must pass the HSPA in Reading, Mathematics, and Writing, in order to receive a diploma unless exempt through the I.E.P. process.
Students who fail their Career Major/Academy Program or three or more courses for the entire year will not be re-admitted to WCTS for the following year.
Each course of study required for graduation shall include a statement of the required proficiencies to be mastered by the students enrolled in the course. Credit for each required course will be awarded upon the successful completion of the program assigned and satisfaction of the proficiencies identified. Students shall be given every reasonable opportunity to remediate and satisfy failed proficiencies.
Successful completion of remedial courses in HSPA English or HSPA Mathematics will count toward the total number of credits required for graduation. However, those courses will not satisfy the curriculum requirement for high school English or Mathematics.
