ACADEMIC COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
ART

ART I                         prerequisite –none                                                      5 credits

This is a core course designed around the study of the elements and principles of art, aesthetics, criticism, and creation. Students work in a variety of mediums to create two– and three-dimensional works of objective, non-objective, and abstract art.  The various trends and styles of art around the world are tied to the studio lessons through criticism.  Works of students are displayed online and around the building.

ART II                        prerequisite - Art I                                                      5 credits

The elements and principles of art, aesthetics, criticism, and creation are studied in depth.  This advanced course allows students more freedom in choosing medium, technique, and style while creating artworks.  In-depth study of exemplary artists and styles accompanies this creation.  Works of students are displayed on line and around the building.
